Stars and Stripes, passion for western
This german brand history started in 1981. Robert Kastori, a 19 years old young man just had returned to his country after spending a year in the United States. He is back full of enthusiasm and energy with the idea of bringing part of the “American Way of Life” to Germany.
After a year he was already set to put in motion his plan and opens a store at Reutlingen city center. There, started selling t-shirts, shirts, jeans and hats designed and produced in the United States. After short time started building a reputation in the area and customers from all the region visited his store.
Soon, the small shop experienced a growth and, seeing the needs of the European western market, in 1986 Kastori decided to buy a truck. He painted it with a design based on the Death Valley, and with the name of Western Truck, he visited during the weekends all kinds of events, bringing the cowboy fashion beyond his tiny shop.
In 1988, with all the acquired experience, Kastori founded the wholesale brand Stars and Stripes. He uses his home’s garage as store, warehouse and office and starts sending a small catalog.
In very few years, the brand became one the most important suppliers in the western fashion market, making a name in the show business. More and more music groups and famous singers choose its clothing and accessories; tv channels and film producers choose its garments for costume design; and the magazines present its latest collections as top trends recommendations.
With a catalog of almost 500 references and nearly 700 specialized distributors along all Europe, Stars and Stripes has become synonym of western fashion.
