His two buildings located there are Casa Batlló and Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera: two monuments who deserved to be observed and snapped if it’s your first time in Barcelona.

Casa Batlló is open to everyone each day of the week to be inside its ample rooms, walk around its special atrium and see the original chimneys in the roof. Lots of tourists and locals are always standing outside while admiring the facade and taking pictures, as this Gaudi’s work is an architectural referent around the world.

Güell Park: a UNESCO World Heritage Site

This is another display of Gaudi’s genie: a huge park where to take a stroll while watching many animal sculptures, tree-shaped columns and other monuments with a birds-eye view of Barcelona and its shoreline from the Gran Plaça Circular.

Inside the park you can visit two small fairytale-look houses: the Keeper’s House, for example, has a beautiful staircase and a snake-shaped colorful mosaic bench.

Sagrada Família: the city’s symbol

Also designed by Antoni Gaudí, the so-called ‘XX Century Cathedral’ is the most visited monument in Barcelona. Its construcción began in 1882 and it’s expected to be finished in 2026. Everyone would recognize this temple outside, but don’t miss the opportunity of going inside and behold the impressive and huge columns. One of the towers is also open to ascend with an elevator and be used as a nice viewpoint where all Eixample quarter and the rest of the city can be seen.

On this faced to the sea little mountain slopes, arriving from Plaça d’Espanya you can visit several places like MNAC (Catalonian National Art Museum), the Magic Fountain (Font Màgica), where in many summer nights it will display a great light and colour show, or Poble Espanyol (Spanish Town), a reduced yet beautiful representation of a traditional southern village in Spain. Going hill up you can also take a look at the Olympic Rings and the Montjuïc Castle.

Barcelona’s Cathedral and the Gothic quarter

The Barri Gòtic (Gothic quarter) has many places to visit as well and a strong personality, like all quarters located in Barcelona’s Old Town, like the Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia, being commonly shortened as Cathedral. This church has a beautiful cloister with a big pond with plants and 13 gooses in memory of Saint Eulàlia, who died also at 13 years old defending her Christian faith.

The Gothic quarter can be completely toured starting from pedestrian street Portal de l’Àngel, where many shops and street shows will entertain your route.
