Dead Birds
Dead Birds is a horror film set in the American West at the height of the Civil War. The film centers on a group of deserters turned bank robbers who are confronted by supernatural forces as they take refuge in an abandoned plantation after robbing a bank.
This deserter group has characteristic characters, such as William, our main character who throughout the film we see him wearing a black felt hat, a cloth cowboy vest, a shirt in earth tones and his characteristic holster, accompanied by his square-toed boots, being one of the main characters full of symbolism given his past as a member of the Confederate militants.

Blood Moon
A film full of adventure where the members of a stagecoach are kidnapped by two outsiders. As the travelers try to escape from the outlaws, they will realize that there is a greater threat lurking behind them.
Set in Colorado, and featuring an eccentric gunslinger named Calhoun, who is known for concealing his identity by means of bandanas, the most incredible harnessed cowboy boots of the era stand out from his style. The heroic women are not left behind, in addition to their corsets and skirts of the time, they wear in a versatile and elegant way, laced cowboy boots that elevate the character of their characters, along with accessories such as western fabric bows.

Aballay
This film is a clear example of how widespread the western spirit is in communities around the world. The story takes place in Argentina where a Gaucho (a type of peasant typical of some parts of South America) after killing a man in front of his son, becomes aware of the savagery of his actions. Aballay, the main character, knows that the boy will go out in search of him.
Aballay’s peasant look is made up of a gambler hat with a round top, we see him with round toe cowboy boots, sometimes with a harness and his ever-present red bandana around his neck.
In contrast, Julián, the hero, wears plain cowboy boots that highlight the city context he comes from, besides wearing leather riding gloves on several occasions.

Fallout
From more recent productions and as a bonus, we have found western references in some characters of the acclaimed series Fallout, a post-apocalyptic story where citizens must live in subway bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants and bandits.
Janey Howard’s character makes presence at first with a boy scout outfit accompanied by a large felt hat with wide brim in beige tones, which will later be worn by a bounty hunter named Cooper Howard, with an elegant hatband in brown, accompanied by a black vest, leather gloves and holster on belt with cowboy buckle in silver, plus cowboy boots pointed toe with entered heel that contrasts with her total look in leather.
Our protagonist, Lucy, is not left behind, because in addition to the characteristic shelter outfit, she wears black military boots in combination and in training moments smooth cowboy boots.
Throughout the series, leather is presented as a resistant and versatile material in extreme conditions and as part of a wardrobe created for characters who need for their adventures: durability, comfort and mutability.
