As every summer, nice weather bring us plenty of musical events to immerse during the warm summertime nights. Don’t worry, we are not going to discuss about this summer’s hit, the most popular reggeaton songs or indy music festivals that take place in our coasts. Not at all, if you are here is because you are a country spirit passionate and is precissely about country music and line dance events that we are going to talk. That’s because we are lucky to also have the chance to enjoy country festivals during the sizzling summer months.
We are going to talk about some of this summer’s most important country and line dance festivals, meetings and workshops that occurs in Spain and Europe. Probbably there are more taking place but these are the ones we consider more interesting:
Huercasa Festival Country
Huercasa Country Festival took place on July 6th to 8th at Riaza in Spain. It is already over, but we want to review it because is a unique music event in Spain. A great chance to enjoy fantastic country music singers and groups both national an international. All in a family atmosphere, including activities for kids.
This year’s lineup, with the incomparable John Hiatt & The Goners and Steve Earle & The Duckes as headliners, also counted with the participation of artists like The Cadillac Tree, the fantastic Jaime Wyatt, The Wild Horses & Friends, The Band of Heathens, Stephanie Quayle or Max Tyler.
Cowboy Boots Festival Barcelona 2018
Cowboy Boots Festival is taking place in the coastal village of Sant Pol de Mar – 1 hour driving distance from Barcelona – in Platja de les Barques area during the weekend July 13th to 15th. It is a major country event that offers live music, workshops, line dance, shopping area, custom bikes activities and more.
In musical terms, as always, it promises to not dissapoint us, bringing to the scenery groups from Spain like the awesome Allwoods, and big international artists like Billy Payne as head of the bill, Wayne Law return with his band or the french Backwest.

SummerTyne Americana Festival
If you are planning a summer trip you should know that some of the coolest country music festivals are taking place out of Spain and are a great chance to give your holdays’s a new sense. One of the most interesting options is the SummerTyne Americana Festival that occurs during July 20th to 22nd weekend at south side of river Tyne in Sage Gateshead (UK).
It is a very big festival that attracts visitors from all around the world in a very special weekend for all about country and americana music. Among the stars of this year’s edition we can enjoy artist the size of Graham Nash, Natalie Merchant, Steve Earl, Holly Macve & Jade Bird, Iris DeMent, Davina and The Vagabonds, Darrel Higham, Charley Crockett, Kelly Wilis and many others more.
Festiwal Piknik Country
Now we want to talk you about another very interesting international festival where you can attend during your holidays. It is the Festiwal Piknik Country: during July 27th and 28th weekend in the beautiful Lake Czos amphitheatre at Mragowo city (Poland).
It counts now 37 editions for this festival that transform the little city of Mragowo, invaded by tens of thousands of visitors apassionated by country music and motorcycles.
In this 37th Festiwal Piknik Country we can see on the stage stars like Michal Lonstar, Mariusz Kalaga, Alicja Boncol, Tomasz Szwed, Albert Lee, Jason Lee McKinney Band, Darryl Worley, Honky Tonk Brothers, Droga na Ostroleka y Frank Solivana & Dirty Kitchen.

V Salardú Country-Rock Festival
And, finally, we have the 5th edition of one the festivals we like the most. In the middle of nature, from august 23rd to 26th, at Salardú, located in Vall d’Aran, near the Pirinees, is taking place Salardú Country-Rock Festival.
A festival with double timing, at 19:00h and 23:00h, the best exponents of Irish country music and important North American country stars (with Michael Peterson as head of the bill). Furthermore, the festival count on the presence of Cliona Hagan, Nathan Carter, Jim Devine, Danielle Peck, Little Feather and many more.
