On February 28th, the new streaming platform SkyShowtime arrives to Spain, and it does so with a catalog where a Paramount Network series stands out: Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner.

Yellowstone: the plot
Yellowstone is an American drama television series that premiered in 2018 and is based on the experiences of the Dutton family, owners of the largest cattle ranch in the United States, in Montana.
The series stars Kevin Costner, who gives life to the character of John Dutton, family patriarch and owner of the ranch. The story centers on the struggles to protect the Yellowstone Ranch from corporate, political and Indian reservation interests seeking to take over its land. John Dutton is determined to protect his family and his legacy, even if it means crossing moral and legal boundaries.
The series also focuses on the family’s internal conflicts, including the strained relationship between John and his sons, who have to deal with personal problems while trying to maintain the family business. In addition, there are secondary characters that add more layers to the plot, such as Native Americans seeking to reclaim their land and real estate developers trying to buy the ranch at any cost.
Throughout the series, themes of national identity, justice, corruption and family are explored as the Duttons struggle to maintain their home and way of life in an increasingly hostile environment.
Yellowstone takes place in a violent and corrupt setting, far from the media, where large amounts of money are being handled and there are unsolved murders. The series is also a reflection of the best and worst of the USA from the perspective of an American family where there is both the good and the bad of the country’s culture.
